About Me

My journey as an artist is full of twists & turns, and for that, I am grateful because it brought me here. Today on this website on my own About Me page. My mother, Carol, was a commercial artist, and growing up I was surrounded by and in awe of her work.  Naturally I wanted to be just like her but life had other plans.  Getting married, having children, and moving 9 times - but art was always my hobby - wherever we were I always had a studio - be it the kitchen table, garage or basement.

After raising my kids, I had more time to focus on my artwork and began selling at local arts shows. Ive always been fascinated with fabric & pattern design and combined my artwork with print-on-demand fabric to make clothing and home decor. That path let me to designing machine embroidery & machine applique patterns.

You may ask why a lot of my designs have a coastal feel to them - this is because I grew up spending all my summers on a tiny island off the coast of Maine.  My first foray into selling my art was when I was a little girl selling driftwood & sea glass pieces on a roadside stand on my grandmother’s lawn.

I feel very blessed to be able to share my work with so many and I’m grateful that you stopped by to view my work.

 Blessings,

Laurie
